Marking marking marking...

It's been a mad rush these few days trying to finish marking stacks and stacks of books and worksheets. How pitiful these kids are, having to do so many exercises altogether. Not forgetting how tired the teachers are trying to finish marking every single one of them to return them back to the kids for revision. Here's an interesting conversation between my kids and I in class:

Me: Today I'm going to give you 1 set of English and 1 set of Science worksheets. Hand in
tomorrow.
Kids: Huh!!! Ms Goh, we already have a lot of homework!
Me: Hmm.. I believe if you don't waste time talking, you can actually
finish some in class and have lesser to do at home.
Kids: Last night a lot of us finished at 12 midnight leh!
Me: (Feeling sorry but yet angry at their attitude) Well, I slept at 3am to mark your work.
Kids: Wa!!
Me: If you are complaining about doing 2 sets of worksheets, how much more should I
complain? Every 1 set of worksheet, I got to mark 42 scripts. If you do 5 sets, how many
would I have to mark?
Kids: (After much mental calculation) 210!
Me: Yes! 210 altogether! Who has more work?
Kids: You. (Speechless)
Me: So don't complain ok. Alright! You don't have to do the comprehension in the English
worksheet.
Kids: Yeah!!

So that's it! I guess it's happy ending! Hahaha! So they willingly have to do my work. The 2 stacks are now lying at my house... hmmm.. when will I be free to mark them? Got to finish them fast. Just gave out 6 sets today for them to complete during the PSLE marking days. Don't want the stacks to pile up. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!! AMEN!
